About Rotary

What is Rotary? Like to Join us?

Rotary is a 1.2 million-member organisation started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris.

The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships.

Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

There are over 33,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries world-wide. There are 1840 clubs in Rotary in Britain & Ireland (RIBI).

The two Rotary Clubs that jointly produce the Charity Dinner each year are Kettering Rotary and Kettering Huxloe Rotary.

Kettering Rotary was started in 1930. The Club meets at The Brewer’s Fayre, Telford Lodge in Kettering on Monday lunchtimes. The meetings start at 12.30pm and normally conclude by 1.45pm.

The Rotary Club of Kettering Huxloe was chartered in 1983 and meets on Tuesday evenings at the Kettering Park Hotel. Meetings start at 7.30pm and end at 10.00pm

There are more than 80 members in the two Clubs.

If you are interesting in joining either Club, just email info@ketteringcharitydinner.co.uk and someone will be in touch with you to explain more about what we get up to.
